The Google Analytics 4 (GA4) connection brings your website traffic and user behavior data into Marcenta. Once connected, you can analyze sessions, users, conversions, and engagement metrics alongside your ad spend—so you can see what’s driving visits and what those visits actually do on your site.

Before you connect

Make sure you have:
  • An active GA4 property (not Universal Analytics)
  • Editor or Administrator access to that property in your Google account
GA4 replaced Universal Analytics in July 2023. If your property still uses Universal Analytics, it will not be compatible with this connection.

How to connect

1

Go to Connections

Select Connections from the left sidebar.
2

Select Google Analytics 4

Click the Google Analytics 4 card in the Available connections grid.
3

Authorize with Google

Click Connect Google Analytics 4 on the setup page. You’ll be redirected to Google to sign in and grant Marcenta read access to your Analytics data.
4

Select a property

After authorizing, you’ll be prompted to choose a GA4 property. Select the property you want to sync, then confirm.
If you manage multiple GA4 accounts, you’ll first choose an account and then select a property within it.

Permissions requested

Marcenta requests read-only access to your GA4 property data. No changes can be made to your Google Analytics configuration through Marcenta.

Sync frequency and manual sync

GA4 data syncs automatically. To trigger a sync immediately:
  1. Go to Connections.
  2. Find the Google Analytics 4 connection in the Active Connections grid.
  3. Click Sync Now.

Troubleshooting

The OAuth token may have expired or been revoked. Open the connection’s Manage view and reconnect. After reconnecting, click Sync Now to resume data collection.
The Google account you authorized may not have Editor or Administrator access to any GA4 properties. Sign in with an account that has the correct permissions, or ask your GA4 administrator to grant you access.
Check that you selected the correct GA4 property during setup. Also confirm the date range you’re reporting on in Marcenta matches what you’re viewing in the GA4 interface. If the discrepancy persists, open the connection’s Manage view and trigger a manual sync.
Your Google OAuth session has expired. Reconnect from the Manage view and then retry Sync Now.
